Ethical lip balms with nothing to hide
Welsh beeswax from beekeepers we know, sweet almond oil that is responsibly sourced, packaging you can put on the compost heap.
Ethical is another word that gets attached to a lot of products without much thought. For us it means three concrete things, applied to every batch we make.
Responsibly sourced ingredients
Our beeswax comes from Welsh beekeepers we have a direct relationship with. We know how the hives are kept and we can be confident the wax is free from the antibiotics and acaricides that contaminate a lot of imported wax. The sweet almond oil is cold-pressed and traceably sourced.
Cruelty-free, always
Neither the finished balm nor any of the ingredients are tested on animals at any stage. We do not work with suppliers that test either.
Sustainable packaging by design
The pots are made from natural wood fibres bound with corn starch. They are strong enough to take the post, light enough to keep shipping emissions low, and fully compostable. When the balm is gone the pot can go on the compost heap and disappear.
For a longer write-up of why provenance matters so much for beeswax, the Environmental Impact page goes into the imported-wax problem in more detail.
